Finished exterior

Time sure flies. It's been a long time since I have posted and a long time since we managed to get anything done. The house is at lock up and has been since Christmas 2014. There was a concerted push on as the newly weds were coming to spend some time with us. Since then, they have stayed a number of times as have other guests. It works well as an auxiliary bedroom but we have been waiting to purchase solar panels etc to finish the inside.
Pictured is the ceiling treatment. We have used this approach in various clients' projects in attic spaces and above pole frames. It was also used in an artist's studio renovation. Instead of a hard surface, we used rubber backed curtain lining fabric which means if you sit up suddenly in bed you don't whack your head! We've also used a tightly woven calico or shade cloth in other projects. Stretched tightly and battened out, you'd never know. As you can see, we added a dormer for cross ventilation and light - according to the 'light on two sides' principle.

We clad the tiny house in cedar cladding. Initially we had a stained glass window on the end of the kitchen area and nothing where the kitchen bench was to go but a friend and I convinced Steve you needed to look out when preparing food. He didn't like the stained glass window either so he ended up making two more windows to match the window we had in the bathroom area. The photos show the progress.

And here we have the other side, lest you think there's something missing....

It definitely has the 'cutes' factor; now all we need to do is finish the interior....unless some one  wants to buy it at lock up....
